wow, august first

can you believe it.

it seems like only yesterday was the start of summer with my new german-made birkenstock arizona "stone" sandals, and now it is already august.

august signals a few things:

1. back to school sales are back

the deals are on, and while their presence bodes ill tidings for younger generations, those of us who are ripened beyond school years can merely reap the rewards. even if the savings were just on notebook paper and folders (hint: they cover much, much more than just that), it would be a great time to buy buy buy!

2. it's time to soak up the summer

the shift into autumn is approaching, which means cooler weather is likely just around the corner assuming the earth doesn't just stay hot forever. wear those shorts and sandals as many times as you can, and get outside into the summer sun! for any readers in the summer hemisphere, this would technically be winter for you I realize, but summer is more of a state of mind. summer is a set of ideals. which is why, now that I think about it, summer never has to end...

I pledge to embrace the endless summer.

  1. I have wasted my summer and haven't even won a loyal reader of the month.

    1. so I guess winning the month of june wasn't good enough for you? getting the upset victory over the defending triple crown winner? I'm upset about it, that's for sure. a little gratitude would go a long way.

    2. I somehow missed that I had won reader of the month!?!? How unfortunate that I missed that blog, I read every single post, I don't know what happened. But wow! This is probably the happiest I've ever been on the internet. I am incredibly grateful Frank. This blog has been too good to me.

    3. I do not understand how you can say "I read every single post" when you clearly didn't read the post from JUN 30th. it makes the fnb team look bad when someone given the title "loyal reader of the month" could make a mistake of this magnitude. as an organization of our word, we will not rescind this award, even though it is well within our power to do so. if you would like to collect the benefits that come with the award, please send relevant information as outlined in the post from JUN 30th to frankdotcom.webmail@gmail.com
