Monday Minute 003

The Monday Minute! is a new series that will provide weekly updates for loyal readers on the titles that have been added to the Jumjax Database and our newly accessible IMDb tracking lists.

Jumjax Database: New Additions

Five new titles have been added to the lists since the last update, but no new jumping jacks films were added.

The newly added titles are as follows:

Machete (2010) - 105 minutes

A very ridiculous movie, but surprisingly unwilling to venture into jumping jacks. Robert Rodriguez doesn't take any risk. Delivers another 80's-esque "B-movie" inspired film. Machete would be a more relatable character if he had a training montage where he did jumping jacks and maybe a few sit ups or something. It would be grounding. Instead... 1/10. Not recommended.

Shazam! (2019) - 132 minutes

This movie really should have had jumping jacks. A kid in an adult body? Scenes taking place in a school? Superhero transformation? Really blew it. If I suddenly was transformed or transferred into an alternate body, I would need to test my range of motion to get a bearing on how the body worked. Jumjax would undeniably be the perfect way to do so (and could have fit perfectly into the power-tests montage.) 1/10. Not recommended.

Last Hurrah for Chivalry (1979) - 106 minutes

John Wu delivers a great wuxia flick that ultimately is about friendship--and the lack thereof. It was also lacking any jumping jacks, although it came very close a few times when would-be assassins leapt from the shadows. Unfortunately, no dice. 1/10. Not recommended.

The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964) - 91 minutes

A 91 minute musical where every word is sung, not spoken. This is unlike anything I have seen previously. Alas, there were no upbeat musical numbers with jumping jack choreography. 1/10. Not recommended.

The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992) - 85 minutes

Added by: Bobody. Thank you Bobody. He spoke pretty highly of this movie, but it doesn't have jumping jacks, so keep that in mind. FNB recommendation withheld until further internal analysis completed.

Until next time.

xxoo, always yours
