- use cold water. this means less energy (0%) is used to heat the water!
- use less detergent. how dirty are your clothes, really? it was just you wearing them, anyway.
- stay away from chlorine bleach. the fumes aren't great for you or your neighbor the great outdoors. if you have to use bleach, try oxygen bleach instead.
- always clean the lint trap. dryers will run more efficiently and run a lower risk of catching on fire (which could burn down your house and, in turn, the forest)!
- line dry. tiny microbes and bugs will drink the water, leaving your clothes nice and dry after a few hours!

Bonus Laundry Tip - if you don't have an iron, you can get wrinkles out by putting ice cubes in your dryer with your wrinkly clothes. It makes the dryer nice and steamy.
ReplyDeleteGreat tip, Anonymous! Even better than any of Frank's ideas, which were good, but obvious (I don't understand his line dry tip but I think he just made that one up).
DeleteI guess bobody has not ever heard of a joke! ironic!!
Deleteanonymous let me be the first to say that is a very good tip, thank you for sharing.
also it is probably true about the bugs and microbes drinking some of the water (not all)
